What We Do Here
At the Federation of Families of Central Florida, we partner with families raising children and youth with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Our programs are grounded in lived experience, cultural humility, and a commitment to empowering families through peer support, advocacy, and education
Lean On Me Support Groups
FFCLF hosts monthly in-person and virtual support groups designed to encourage support and connect parents and caregivers. Each group offers a safe space to share experiences, receive resources, and build community.
Support Groups Include:
-
Lean on Me-English
-
Lean on Me-Spanish
-
Lean on Me-Haitian Creole
-
Lean on Me-Grandparents
Note: On-site supervision is provided for children during in-person sessions.
Informational Meetings
Parents and caregivers help guide the topics we cover. These meetings feature guest speakers and professionals invited to share knowledge and tools that help families become more effective advocates for their children. Child supervision is available for in-person events
Warm Line Support (English/Spanish)
Our Warm Line provides non-crisis emotional support and guidance to parents and caregivers who need someone to talk to. It is available Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Advocacy
FFCFL Champions the voices of families at the local, county, state, and national levels, ensuring systems remain accountable to those they serve.
Families help lead advocacy through:
-
Listening
-
Behavioral Gap Analysis Subcommittees
Participants are compensated for their time and input.
Speakers Bureau
Through training and coaching, FFCLF prepares parents and caregivers to share their stories, raise awareness, and influence change. Participants gain the skills to speak confidently in public settings and become agents of transformation within their community.
