About the event
WELCOME MURIEL'S SUCCESSOR TO OUR FAMILY! - SUZI TIPTON
Suzi Tipton is a lifelong resident of Central Florida, was raised in Orange and Seminole Counties. She is the proud mother of three grown children, grandmother to four, and eagerly anticipating the arrival of another grandchild in December 2024.
Suzi has firsthand experience with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder within her immediate family. She has faced the challenges of sitting beside a loved one in the hospital after an overdose and navigating the complexities of finding the appropriate follow-up care. Suzi understands the difficulties families encounter when caring for struggling loved ones and recognizes the critical need for support during these times.
Suzi’s nursing career began 24 years ago, specializing in Mental Health and Addiction Medicine. After years of helping thousands of families as a Discharge Planner, she transitioned to Business Development and Marketing 11 years ago, holding various roles in Behavioral Health Hospitals, Addiction Treatment Facilities, and most recently serving as the Regional Director of Business Development for an Outpatient Substance Use Disorder organization across the Southeastern United States. Her commitment to community service is evident in her previous roles as Community Engagement Chairperson for the Seminole County Children’s Cabinet, Board of Directors member for Seminole Youth Moves and PolyCarpe, and “Community Champion” for the Federation of Families. Suzi is also a speaker at state, local, and civic events on topics including “Emotional Well-Being,” “De-escalation,” “Motivational Interviewing,” and “CIT: Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder.” A longtime supporter and advocate of FFCFL, Suzi was the first community partner to welcome Muriel to the area, a relationship that has now come full circle.
